They should continue to work on 4.3bsd. I left all the intermediates in place in case you want to rebuild parts of it. 4.2's sh gets exit status wrong sometimes. I tried compiling pdksh and it seems to get them right, but it also runs out of file descriptors. I think we used either a System V or V8 or V9 shell in real life, so didn't see this problem. The upshot is that some things like "make r" or "make setup" in /usr/src/cmd/news fail. I have left utstat's actual configuration files in /usr/lib/news/utstat for reference. I haven't done any transfers with uucp, but I think that stuff is all pretty well documented (and I installed the manual pages). I added "news" to /etc/passwd and /etc/group, and it owns all of /usr/spool/news and /usr/lib/news*, at least.
