ME Threads 2.1 is a database which offers quick and easy access to a large amount of essential information pertaining to 1014 different screw threads. These threads represent twenty-one common types - UNC, UNF, UNEF, UNJ, UNJC, UNJF, UNJEF, UN, UNS, UNM, STI, ACME, STUB ACME, NPT, NPTF, NPSM, NPSL, ISO, BSW, BSF, and BA.
This information would be useful to machinists, CNC programmers, inspectors, and engineers involved in the design or manufacture of threaded components.
There isn't much involved with installing the program - just copy the included files to a directory of your choice and run.
Using ME Threads is equally simple. Choose a thread type with an option button and a thread size from the drop-down list - the desired information is instantly displayed. There’s no provision for other forms of input.
The program has a database of 748 commercial drill sizes. When a thread is selected, the minimum minor diameter (internal) is checked and the first drill in the database which is at least that large is located near the top of the sorted TAP DRILL GUIDE. This gives a quick picture of several drilling possibilities, which is much more useful than a typical drill/tap chart, especially when used in conjunction with the adjacent ENGAGEMENT CHART.
There's an inch/metric toggle which converts all data between inches and millimeters.
Clicking on the INFO button displays an information window for the active thread type.
Clicking on the PRINT button opens a viewer containing a printable summary of data for the active thread. Alternatively, the summary can be saved as a free-standing executable file (.exe extension) or as a ddoc file (.ddc extension) which can be viewed or printed by opening in the included ddoc.exe program.
The demo version of ME Threads 2.1 is fully functional, except that only data for the first three sizes of each thread type can be displayed.
The price for a personal license (P) is $15.00, and authorizes only the license holder to run the program. A corporate license (C) is $50.00, and allows any number of persons to use the program simultaneously, as long as they are employees of the license holder and are using the program for the benefit of the license holder.
