Unfortunately these routines cause lockup problems with SBOS. The -O1 switch on SBOS is designed to compensate for this, however this option conflicts with Privateer. The file AILPATCH.ZIP allows you to search files for these routines and disable them, allowing SBOS to operate properly. 3.0.0 ********************* CHAPTER 3. - USAGE *************************** To use this patch, * Change to the install directory of the software you are having trouble with (e.g. CD C:\PRIVATER) * Unzip this program into the install directory of the software you are having trouble with (e.g. PKUNZIP A:\AILPATCH ) * Run AILPATCH, specifying the file name of the sound driver (e.g. AILPATCH SBDIG.ADV) or the name of the file containing the sound driver (e.g. AILPATCH SOUND.TRE) * You should no longer have any lockup problems. NOTE: For Privateer, you must specify SOUND.TRE as the filename, since this file contains all of the sound drivers. THE END
