This README file for LANFIX subdirectory from DRV2X.EXE is for NetWare v2.10
through v2.15b.

LANPATCH converts *.LAN files created by the new LANTAB (used since NetWare
v2.15c) to *.LAN files which are recognized by versions of NETGEN previous
to NetWare v2.15c.  If a .LAN file, created with the new LANTAB, is used in
a NetWare system previous to v2.15c, the driver will not be recognized by
NETGEN and will not show up when you Select Loaded Item.

NetWare v2.15c introduced an extended hardware ID of two bytes.  Previous
versions of NetWare used hardware IDs of one byte.  A new format for .LAN
files was created to contain this longer hardware ID.  LANPATCH converts
the .LAN file to the older format so it will be recognized by older
NETGENs.

To implement this patch:

1)    Type LANPATCH <.LAN filename>

Note: The user may be allowed to specify a one byte hardware ID to replace
the two byte hardware ID if the default of 240 is not used.
