WARNING: 1. THIS INFORMATION IS FOR AV150F (Flash version) ONLY. AV150 USER SHOULD NOT USE THIS UTILITY PRGAV15.EXE 2. THE UTILITY PROGRAM OF PRGAV15.EXE IS FOR TECHNICAL PEOPLE USE ONLY. NON-TECHNICAL PEOPLE ARE NOT RECOMMEMDED TO USE IT. PRGAV15.EXE is a flash memory programmer for AV150F adapter. You can use this program to restore your AV150F BIOS if you accidentially destory the BIOS. Or you can use it to update your AV150F BIOS upon receiving new version. USAGE: Use PRGAV15.EXE by typing PRGAV15 e.g. PRGAV15 D000 AV15F110.ROM where is the segment of address the BIOS located. Please refer to your AV150 manual to determine the ROM address settings associated with JP18 to JP20 on adapter. The other parameter is the file containing AV150F BIOS binary code. We now supply BIOS Version 1.1 in file AV15F110.ROM. The following are the guidelines for using PRGAV15.EXE as well as the AV150F BIOS. Please read them CAREFULLY. 1. For daily use of AV150F BIOS, you may enable shadow at the address the AV150F BIOS located to achieve better performance. Because both AV150F BIOS setup and PRGAV15.EXE will write flash memory, you must disable corresponding shadow before entering AV150F BIOS setup or before running PRGAV15.EXE. 2. To prevent conflicts, do not use any memory management software like EMM386 or QEMM while you are running PRGAV15.EXE. 3. The AV150F BIOS decoded size in host is 16 KBytes. Although we have a version 1.0 BIOS with 8KB size, the AV150F BIOS setup and PRGAV15.EXE both process all 16 KB. So do not have any memory conflicts with other adapter. 4. We have found that one old VGA card does not properly decode its VGA ROM and will disturb ISA memory write operation. If you encounter such problem, try another VGA. 5. Use PRGAV15.EXE only under real-mode DOS. Do not use the program under the platform of Windows, OS/2, Windows NT...
