* For Award BIOS with NCR 3.0 SCSI BIOS built-in * Some motherboards may have compatibility problems with DC390W/U/F when the following combinations are encountered: 1. Award BIOS 2. NCR V3.0 SCSI BIOS built-in (only supports 53C810 and 53C820) Problem Description: The Award BIOS checks both the Vendor ID (NCR) and class code (SCSI devices), and will enable its built-in NCR SCSI BIOS then, if the above checks out. This "enable built-in NCR SCSI BIOS" procedure will also neglect any add-in board's BIOS, which uses 53C810, 53C820 or another NCR SCSI chip. This would accordingly cause the DC390W/U/F, which uses NCR 53C825A/875 chip, NOT to show their BIOS messages during system POST and to be controlled by the M/B's built-in NCR SCSI BIOS. This would eventually keep the system from finding any SCSI devices connected to DC-390W/U/F and thus make booting up from any of these SCSI devices impossible. Solution: To fix this problem, you need to REMOVE the built-in NCR SCSI BIOS from the mainboard BIOS. PROG.BAT batch file used to remove NCR SCSI BIOS or restore original mainboard BIOS AWDFLASH.EXE Utility to retrieve or program mainboard BIOS CBROM.EXE Utility to remove NCR SCSI BIOS from mainboard BIOS's binary file.
