INTERFACE:

IDE "like" means that the drive will respond to ST406 or ESDI
commands from the system BIOS.  They are not true ST506 or ESDI
or IDE drives.  They are more correctly referred to as direct
bus attach drives.  ST506 and ESDI refers to an interface of
connectors (2) and the pin assignments on the connectors.  They
are interfaces between a controller and a fixed disk.  As both
controller and fixed disk are within the same assembly, they can't
be ST506 or ESDI drives.
