Windows NT Setup Procedure for DTC3X80 / DTC3X70 / DTC3X50 Date: OCT. 11, 1993 ________________________________________________________________ 1. DTC3X80 / DTC3X70 / DTC3X50 driver package for Windows NT includes the following files: README OEMSCSI.SYS OEMSETUP.INF TXTSETUP.OEM OEM_SCSI 2. The first step is to create a DTC3X80 / DTC3X70 / DTC3X50 Manufacturer-Supplied Support Disk. A. Format a blank diskette. (No label required) B. Copy OEMSCSI.SYS, OEMSETUP.INF, TXTSETUP.OEM and OEM_SCSI files from the DTC driver package to the this blank diskette. 3. Insert the Microsoft Windows NT Setup Disk for CD-ROM into the drive "A:" on a computer for installing the Windows NT system. Note that a CD-ROM drive is required for the installation. Since the DTC3X80 / DTC3X70 / DTC3X50 driver is not a built-in driver in the Windows NT, the user needs to add the driver during the setup procedure described in the following setps. 4. Boot the computer and the first screen from NT will show: Welcome to Setup Simply press "ENTER" to continue. 5. The next screen will show: Windows NT provides two Setup methods ..... Press "C" to run the custom setup. 6. NT will then scan for the built-in host adapter drivers and show: Setup has recognized the following SCSI Adapters in your computer: (none) Because the DTC driver is not a built-in driver in this Windows NT version, the user is required to configure additional SCSI adapter by pressing "S". 7. On the next screen, NT will show the available drivers to add. The DTC3X80 / DTC3X70 / DTC3X50 driver is in the category of: Other (Required disk provided by a hardware manufacturer) Select this category and press "ENTER". 8. NT will prompt to insert into the drive "A:" a diskette: Manufacturer-supplied support disk Insert the diskette you prepared in the step 2. simply press "ENTER". 9. NT will check the floppy and show: OEM SCSI for DTC3X80 / DTC3X70 / DTC3X50 Press "ENTER". 10. After NT scan the hardware and find the controller, it will display: Setup has recognized the following SCSI Adapters in your computer: OEM SCSI for DTC3X80 / DTC3X70 /DTC3X50 Press "ENTER" to continue. 11. NT will now display the components in the computer. After making corrections if any, the user should continue the remaining installation of the Windows NT.
