PCAD DRIVER DISK ---------------- for XTEC's AGX --------- Features: * Very Fast- Written in 100% assembly language * Very Small- Driver uses only 9.8K Hardware Requirements: * 386 or better CPU (8088 or 286 based machines will not work) * XTEC AGX based graphics card Resolution: * 1280x1024,1152x900,1280x960,1024x768,800x600, or 640x480 * 16 colors I N S T A L L A T I O N ----------------------- PCAD installation: 1. Go to disk drive that has PCAD. 2. Place the driver install disk in drive A:. 3. Change to the "\PCCARDS" directory. 4. Copy "A:\PCADAGX.DRV" to that directory. 5. Edit the "\PCADDRV.SYS" file, changing the display driver path/filename so that it points to the newly installed driver. D R I V E R U S E ------------------- The driver is loaded into memory by PCAD, and so requires no intervention on the part of the user. The CAD package will also remove the driver from memory upon completion, thus conserving DOS memory. This driver will default to a resolution of 640x480. To use any other resolution mode, an environment variable must be set as follows: "set pcad_mode=" Where is: 0 640 x 400 1 640 x 480 2 800 x 600 3 1024 x 768 4 1152 x 900 5 1280 x 960 6 1280 x 1024 Please note that not all resolution modes may be available, due to monitor in use, and VRAM available. T R O U B L E S H O O T I N G ----------------------------- PCAD reports a driver failure. Couldn't find an AGX based card. Install a compatible AGX based graphics card before proceeding. Computer "hangs" before PCAD ever comes up. Not a 386 or better. This driver requires the presence of a 386 or 486 in order to work correctly. XT-class machines (8088 & 286 based) will not work correctly, and will most likely "hang". The only solution is to upgrade your machine.
