@2{DMC CONFIGURATION ERROR CHECKING @3 }By Andy Gibson @4 DMC has more error handling built into the setting up of its config files. Fully enhanced and recoded for the DMC GOLD Release. These are new features added to help you get your config files 100% working without wondering what you have done wrong - DMC now tells you (roughly) what you have to fix :) There are two types of errors reported during the setting up of your config file: #4 General Errors and Fatal Errors. @5 o @3General Errors are there to tell you that your config file(s) have a small problem. These errors won't cause DMC to stop setting up your config files. DMC will skip by these errors and continue working. @5 o @3Fatal Errors are more important errors that DMC cannot work around! Obviously I cannot code in full error checking as that could take up as much code as DMC itself, but the five main errors that can happen have been included for safety. @2General Errors: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~@5 Error 1@1: @3Too Many Index Headings@1 If you have typed more than 30 Headings in DMC.Config1 file then you see this message. DMC will automatically use the first 30 in the file. Please remove the offending headings to stop error. @5 Error 2@1: @3Too Many Index Pages@1 As Error 1 only this time for amount of Index Pages you are creating. DMC will only show the first 30, so remove all unused text from DMC.Config2 to stop error. @5 Error 3@1: @3You Have Less Headings Than Index Pages@1 If you have created ie. 15 Headings in DMC.Config1 and ie. 20 Index pages in DMC.Config2, then DMC will report this. Index Pages that do not have a heading will still be shown. @5 Error 4@1: @3You Have More Headings Than Index Pages@1 As above but the opposite way around !!! Obvioulsy the extra headings won't be shown unless you create more index pages for them to be shown on. @5Error 5@1: @3Unknown - Please Check Your Files@1 This one mainly pops up if you have forgotten to press return at the very end of DMC.Config1 file. Always remember to press return after each line typed. This error will also appear if you press return more than once at the very end of the config file(s). Please see the section on creating your configuration files for more help. @2 FATAL ERRORS: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ @5 Fatal Error 1@1: @3Occurs if space (return char) is found between any Headings in DMC.Config1 file. ie. If you miss one of the headings out (leave it blank) and type another on the next line. @5 Fatal Error 2@1: @3RGB (HEX) Values less than or greater than 3 chars ! If you make a typo like F000 instead of F00 then DMC will not be able to read your Hex Value. @5 Fatal Error 3@1: @3Can't load or find DMC.Config1 Either this file is missing from disk or has been renamed. @5 Fatal Error 4@1: @3Can't load or find DMC.Config2 As above ... @5 Fatal Error 5@1: @3Can't reserve enough memory to load config file(s) ! This should never occur but has been added just in case. @4 There are some things that DMC does not check like if you press return in DMC.Config2 to leave a blank line instead of typing *empty* for example. If you follow the instructions for creating your config files carefully then you shouldn't have any problems. [7 I would request that you send me any errors that you are having problems with along with your files on disk. I will do my best to try and fix these problems out for you and return your disk with your errors fixed. (if I can fix em that is ;-) @5 Please also send the correct amount of postage costs so that I can return your disk(s) to you. #5 NO STAMP = NO DISK(S) RETURNED :( @5 Please tell me as much information as possible including your full set-up.
