THOR 2.22 is an advanced multi-format offline reader, supporting the QWK, Fido, UUCP, SOUP, Bluewave, Omen, ABBS, MBBS and Hippo (BBBS) message formats. It will also handle TCP-connections with NNTP, SMTP and POP3. Changes in 2.22: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THOR: - 5 on the numberic keypad is now a shortcut for "m b" (unmark subject). - If the ARexx SHOWPICTURE function failed to load a picture, the listview would end up in a state that would cause enforcer hits if clicked upon. - Changed a few of the "Sort by" strings in the Dock window, making them shorter. - Will handle small fontsizes better when putting the icon for a MIME/uuencoded file in the listview. - The requester containing conference when replying to a crossposted message would misbehave and add an empty conference field in the reply window when no conferences was multiselected, but ok was still used. This is fixed and the behaviour has changed somewhat so that selecting with the white bar will crosspost to that conference only, and not to the current one. - Fixed the last remaining problem (I hope) with the delayed marking option that concerned marking the current message as unread. THOR will now set a flag when this is done, and when proceeding to the next messages, this flag is checked and if set, the unmarking of the messages will be skipped. - Maybe fixed the problem with entering and leaving a system many times which could cause a crash. - MIME sound files will be handled correctly with Multiview from within THOR. ConfigTHOR: - Added an option in "Global Config->Message options" for marking the message as read after you go to the next message. In THOR, this means that the message you have been reading will only be marked as read when you go to the next or previous message. ConnectTHOR: - NNTP_USERNAME and NNTP_PASSWORD arguments added to for use on newsservers that require authentication. Currently only used in the newsbrowser. packfido 3.202 (12.Des.95) - Packed events that where added to the database did not get the right charset. - Crash (urgent) mail implemented at last. - UUCP-address recognition has been changed, but I had forgot to update the historyfile, so I don't know _when_ it was changed. :) An UUCP-address is now an address with a '@' in it. - Forgot to change the tearline to reflect the new 2.2 release. - Hold mail implemented. Untill this is implemented in bbsread library, I use 'Encode 8 bit' as an alias for Hold, so if you want Hold, select 'Encode 8 bit' in the Extras window. - New type: FIDO_EXPORT This type will export all events and mark them as done. Next time events are packet, these are added to the (possibly) existing files in the outbound dir. This behaviour is like Spot, and several people have requested something like this. - Fixed some small bugs that came with the FIDO_EXPORT type. - A test was in the wrong place, so hold only worked on non-NetMail. parsefido 3.195 ( 8.Des.95) - The progressbar wouldn't always start at the beginning. - Fileattaches are now moved to /decoded as they should. - BinaryPart's (fileattaches) now get matching b.desc/b.comment (file-recognition :) - Support for FSC-035 (REPLYADDR and REPLYTO kludges) - Added support for the SHOWORIGIN config option. When this option is turned on, Origin-lines will be added to the message-text instead of to the comment-text as it has been till now. (Requested by Axel Bruns) utgui.library 3.147 - No longer 3D text in separatorbars in the listview. - Background of NUMBER_KIND was not cleared, fixed. - Separator bars was not centered (missed a () pair in an expression; who said it was *pointers* that where worst in C? :) - Now obtain ansi-pens with precision PRECISION_EXACT instead of with PRECISION_GUI as before. - Implemented support for separatorbars in ansi-listviews. - Fixed a problem with screen locking an progressbars relative to windows. CfgFIDO.thor 1.4 (11.Des.95) - Added new SHOWORIGIN option. PackBlue 2.4 - Enfocer hit when all events were deleted is fixed. utnet.library 2.81 - Does no longer require big continous buffers when parsing news. Uses much less memory on binary attachment and get conflist. - Improved support for RFC 1522 MIME headers. - Fixes the well known crash-bug some people have experienced when adding MIME messages. - Localizes time on incoming messages if locale library can be found. This should make Thor fully RFC 822 confirmant. GetTCP 1.18 - Instead of turning off copyback, I turned it on several times. - Enforcerhits/crash if the number of news messages was lower than the number of sockets is fixed. - Will use the initial NNTP socket as one of the sockets to retrieve news on. - Will not quit the program if one or more of the news sockets fail to initiate. To install this upgrade, use the UpdateThor or InstallThor installer script. QUESTIONS? ~~~~~~~~~~ There is a mailing list for Thor.
