Well, here it is again.. New version of TauIcons. I wonder how many of you even read this simple text file. PLEASE, even if you don't read docs, READ the sections titled IMPORTANT in TauIcons.doc. It starts on the line 79. Shouldn't be too hard to find. If you don't, you can forget about ever seeing new versions of this collection as well. IMPORTANT NOTE Since even MagicWB has been moved to 3 bitplane icons (yes, there is no Magic(tm) behind the speedup, even though XEN seems to try to claim that), I decided to convert all my icons into 3 bitplanes also. This makes them less than half the size, and more than twice as fast to load. I really feel it is worth to emphasize that what XEN did in MagicWB 2.0 is not in any way special. The icons just have the extra bitplanes stripped off, and a utility is added that allocates 4 extra colors on the Workbench. What that means is that on for example 16 color Workbench, you used to have 8 free colors, and with MWB 2.0 only 4. Whether it is worth it is up to you to decide. Aminet has several tools that can convert icons from 8 to 3 bitplanes and back again. Try DoIcon by Lars Eilebrecht, in util/cli/DoIcon.lha. I just found while building this archive. Very cool. I don't want to hear any complains that the colors are wrong.
