HOW TO USE THIS DISK These disks contain all the files for the 'PHOTOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES' tutorial. It is also possible to install the program on hard disk if you wish, with a little knowledge. To use from disk, double click on the camera icon in this window. If you have 2 drives, have BOTH disks in drives, if not, you will obviously already have disk 1 in DF0: Shortly, you will be asked for disk 2. Change disks and press a mouse key. If you have 2 disk drives, just press the mouse key at the prompt. All the files needed to run the program after initial loading, so if you have just the one drive, leave disk 2 in it after loading. The full program will load and present you with a menu page. Should you wish to abort, you may do so only from the menu page by pressing 'ESC'. You need 1 Mb. at least to load the full program in this way. Should you experience loading problems you are likely to be short of memory. Try pressing 'N' at the loading prompt. This action will stop sound and music loading, saving some 140 K. If you still have trouble, open the 'SHORT-MEM' draw and load the program stored in there. This version loads each screen as it needs it, You should still be able to have sound, but the action slows down as you wait a few seconds each time you change screens. The disks will auto-boot from Disk 1, which may be of assistance to anyone short of memory, or can be run from workbench. HARD DRIVE. If you have a hard drive, you may install the program only if one of your partitions is called WORK: If you have such a partition, use a file handler such as DIRWORKS or SID and create a directory called TECH within WORK: Open TECH and copy into it ALL of the files on TECH2 - which is disk 2, and most of the files EXCEPT AUTOEXEC.AMOS and AUTOEXEC.AMOS.INFO from TECH1 - disk 1. You need the 'c' directory in the TECH partition in order to read the 'readme' file ONLY. Otherwise, the following on TECH1 can be left off the hard disk.... s, t, DEVS, l, LIBS, Preferences and Preferences.info, System, and system configuration. The directory 'SHORT-MEM' is also not required. Use the version of the program stored in the directory 'HARD- DISK' on TECH1 to replace the autoexec.amos file on TECH1. This file has been configured to run from WORK:TECH/ The program should now run from the directory TECH on your hard drive.
