                              DEMONSTRATIONS


     WARNING: Certain Public Domain Screen Blankers & Mouse Accelerators
              may conflict with the Buddy System's demonstrations due to
              the nature of the playback process. Demonstrations are
              pre-recorded mouse & keyboard sequences that can be thrown
              off by programs that affect mouse movement. So, to make
              sure the demonstrations play correctly, disable any mouse
              acceleration. A3000 owners should not have the acceleration
              feature activated in their Input Preferences. Also, Make
              sure Mouse Speed = 1.

     In order for the demonstrations to work correctly, DeluxePaint must
     be running in the following Screen Format:

             Lo-Res, Overscan OFF, 32 Colors, NTSC, & Load All

     Additionally, DeluxePaint should be loaded by the Buddy System,
     rather than loaded separatedly. In other words, let the Buddy System
     load DeluxePaint for you.  This makes sure that the default
     directories for some demonstrations are correct.

     SAVE YOUR WORK! The demonstrations paint on an actual DeluxePaint
     screen and can alter anything you have currently created. Make sure
     you save important work before going into any demonstration.

*    A requester appears before proceeding with a demonstration. 
     Additionally, a requester appears to ask if you want to perform the
     Set Up sequence before the actual demonstration.

     The purpose of the Set Up procedure is to reset DeluxePaint as
     close as possible to its default state - as when it was first
     started.  This makes sure that certain requesters and menus are set 
     to conditions that the visual demonstrations are expecting. This
     is particularly important after you have been experimenting or
     practicing with DPaint. Otherwise, some demonstrations may not
     work correctly.

     Therefore you can bypass the Set Up procedure if you have not been
     doing excessive interaction in DeluxePaint. For example, if you
     are just viewing demonstrations you can bypass the Set Up and get
     directly to a demonstration without delay.

     If a demonstration appears to be malfunctioning, abort it with the
     ESC and restart it - this time letting the Set Up procedure perform.

                               CONFIGURATION

*    TOOL TYPES are available for the BSDP4 icon (please read the 
     "Getting Started" topic for more details on this and all other new 
     functions.

     - you can now set the activation key for the Buddy System other than
       the Alt-HELP sequence
     - you can change the task priority of the Buddy System
