

JAMES COOK
(1728-1779)

British explorer born at Marton,Yorkshire. He joined the Royal Navy in 1755
and led an expedition to the South Pacific in 1768. He also surveyed the
Eats coast of Australia and Tahiti. In 1772, he discovered Easter Island
amongst many other Pacific Islands. On 14th Feb. 177 , Cook was clubbed to
death by native in Hawaii.
