                                CLIPBOARD DIALER

                                 BY GREG McCAIN

WHAT IT DOES:

The Clipboard Dialer is a little tool I whipped up to provide a quick and
easy way to use your modem to dial a phone number from Windows. If you
use a database or even a text file to store your phone numbers, you need not
dial the telephone yourself. Just use the Clipboard Dialer hot key.

HOW TO USE:

All you have to do is copy a number to the Windows clipboard, and press
CTRL-SHIFT-P. This will activate the Clipboard Dialer, which will use your
modem to dial the number. To hang up after a number has been dialed simply
press CTRL-SHIFT-P again.

FEATURES:

   - The Clipboard Dialer will automatically dial a "1" in front of any 10
digit phone number. It assumes that any 10 digit phone number is long
distance, and requires a "1". Note it will *only* add a "1" if there
are exactly ten digits in the number.

   - The Clipboard Dialer validates the data in the clipboard before dialing.
It will dial any string of numbers, intermingled with the characters:
     ")", "(", "#", "*", "-", " ", "\n", "\r". If any other characters are
in the clipboard, the Clipbaord Dialer will complain and not dial the
     number.

   - The "Hide Desktop Icon" option allows you to minimize the Clipboard
Dialer without it creating a Windows "Icon". The program will still be
running, and the CTRL-SHIFT-P will still activate the dialer.
This allows you to start up the Clipboard Dialer in a mimimized state
and you never even have to look at any window for it.

   - Supports COM1, COM2, COM3, and COM4. Just choose which one you want
to use from the Clipboard Dilaer window.

TECHNICAL INFO:

   - Uses up about 8K of RAM

   - I Open the communication ports at 1200 baud. If you are using a 300
baud modem, the Clipboard Dialer will not work. (Get a real modem.)

DISCLAIMER:

The Clipboard dialer is distributed as FREEWARE. Just don't charge
anybody anything for it. For questions, comments, love letters, hate
