Thank you for evaluating The Scrambler 1.0.  For complete 
instructions on how to play the game please see the on-line 
help.  The Scrambler 1.0 is being distributed as shareware.  
Registration is only $7.00 and will allow the startup 
shareware notice to be disabled.  Please print out and fill in 
the registration form (REGISTER.TXT).  Send it in along with a 
check or money order payable to DunsonWare to the above 
address.  

SCRAM1.ZIP should contain the following:

The following files are required to run The Scrambler 1.0.

SCRAMBLE.TBK
SCRAMBLE.HLP
SND1.DGT
SND2.DGT
SND3.DGT
SCRAMBLE.DAT
SCORE.DAT

Also included is SCRAMBLE.ICO a icon file that you can use to 
replace the default icon in the Program Manager group.

Please place the above files into their own directory.  They 
need to be kept together.

The Scrambler was written in ToolBook 1.53 and requires the 
runtime files to be installed on your machine.  If you do not 
have the runtime files they can be found in SCRAM2.ZIP.  
Please see the file INSTALL.WRI included in that ZIP file for 
installation instructions.

If you already have ToolBook 1.53 Runtime installed on your 
system, make sure you have placed it in a directory that is 
located on your path (the WINDOWS directory is a good place!)
Please make sure your runtime is version 1.53 and that you have 
the following runtime files installed:

TBOOK.EXE
TBKDLG.DLL
TBKUTIL.DLL
TBKBASE.DLL
TBKCOMP.DLL

You may also have TBKFILE.DLL and TBKWIN.DLL.  

If you do not have TBKDLG.DLL, I have supplied that file with 
this archive (SCRAM1.ZIP).






Once you have the runtime installed and have placed the 
Scrambler files into their own directory, you may proceed to 
create a Program Manager item if you wish.

Choose New from the File menu.

1. Enter a description: (The Scrambler)

2. The Command Line for the Program Manager is :

c:\windows\tbook.exe c:\mydir\scramble.tbk

Replace C:\windows with the directory you placed the runtime files in.
Replace C:\mydir with the directory you placed The Scrambler 1.0 files in.


3. IMPORTANT - In the WORKING DIRECTORY field please enter the 
path to the location of directory where you placed The 
Scrambler 1.0 files in.

Example above-  c:\mydir

ALTERNATIVE:

If you associate *.TBK files with the executable TBOOK.EXE you 
can simply double-click on the file SCRAMBLE.TBK from the File 
Manager to start the game.  See your Windows Users Manual for 
information on associating files.
