Dear PC-DeskTeam User:
We thank you for your interest in our products. PC-DeskTeam is one of
the most popular desktop organizers and the first SHAREWARE desktop
organizer.
To assist you in learning and evaluating the program we have included
a program named "MANUAL" that will allow you to select various topics
from a menu. You may then view them on your monitor or print them.
To run this program place the distribution diskette in drive A and
enter the following commands:
A:
MANUAL
Due to the size and complexity of the User's Guide we no longer
include one on the distribution diskette. You will be able to learn
how to use the program by reading the Quick Start Guide. A complete
printed User's Guide is provided when you register.
We recommend that you first print and thoroughly read the Quick Start
Guide contained on the distribution diskette before you attempt to use
the program. Also, read the section discussing the Program License
Agreement and the Terms & Conditions. Use of this product indicates
your acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
Take some time to scan the Product Catalog to obtain information about
other products that we sell. These include a variety of memory
resident programs that complement PC-DeskTeam and a number of programs
that assist you in the management of Pop Ups and TSRs.
Registration
------------
We market PC-DeskTeam using the Shareware concept, therefore you are
free to copy and share unmodified copies of the program with your
friends and associates. If you decide to use the program we would like
to encourage you to support the Shareware concept by becoming a
registered user. The section discussing Shareware will provide you
with further details. You can print an order form from the "MANUAL"
program. Registration provides the following benefits:
1. A Printed User's Guide.
2. The PC-DeskTeam Configuration Utility.
3. Programs to remove PC-DeskTeam and other memory resident
programs from memory.
4. The Calendar and Alarm display program.
5. The newest version of the program.
6. One year free support.
7. Reduced upgrade fees.
8. Subscription to the DeskTeam Newsletter.
9. And a $5 commission for each person who registers using your
registration number as a reference.
After receiving your registration diskette make sure that you insert
your registration number onto the disk. Read the chapter discussing

the configuration utility in the User's Guide for further information.
PLEASE DO NOT distribute copies of the Registration Diskette. You may
make a Shareware distribution diskette by performing the following
commands:
1. Insert your registration number into the program by using
the configuration utility.
2. Place a newly formatted diskette in Drive B
3. Place the registration diskette in drive A and then perform
the following commands:

Printing Or Viewing The Manual
------------------------------
The program named "MANUAL" allows you to view the Quick Start Guide
and various other topics on your monitor or printer. It is necessary
to use this program since all the documentation is specially
formatted. If you have entered the command

to read this file then you can immediately access the Quick Start
Guide from the menu. You can also run the program "MANUAL" to view or
print it.
Perform the following steps to view or print the Quick Start Guide:
1. Insert the PC-DeskTeam distribution diskette into
drive A.
2. Enter the following commands:
A:
MANUAL
3. Select the topic Quick Start and press the F3 key to print or <-'
to view.
PLEASE NOTE: Verify that your printer is set to print at 66 lines per
page or the Quick Start Guide will not be formatted correctly.
Conversion Utility
------------------
A registration diskette contains a program named "CONVERT" that will
convert your version 1 DESKTEAM.CFG & PRINTER.CFG configuration files
into the version 2 files DESKTEAM.C20, PRINTER.C20.
To execute the program be sure that the following files are located on

the same diskette or subdirectory:
DESKTEAM.CFG
PRINTER.CFG
DESKTEAM.C20
PRINTER.C20
CONVERT.COM
Set your default drive and subdirectory to the one where the above
files are located and execute the command:
CONVERT
The program will display two options. Press 1 to convert the
DESKTEAM.CFG file and press 2 to convert the PRINTER.CFG file.
The default version 1 printer definition will be stored as printer
USER 1 in the version 2 configuration files. Refer to the discussion
of the PC-DeskTeam CONFIG Utility located in the Appendix of the
User's Guide for further information.
After this process is completed you can delete the following version 1
files:
DELETE *.CFG
DELETE *.DOC
DELETE INSTALL.COM
Printer Configurations
----------------------
The Printer Utility of PC-DeskTeam is able to select special
formatting features of dot matrix and laser printers. We have
included a variety of printer configurations for some popular
printers. Run the program named "PRINTERS" to list the names of the
available printers. The PC-DeskTeam configuration utility allows you
to create your own printer configurations. The configuration utility
is provided on the registration diskette.
Install & Remove TSR Programs
-----------------------------
We have obtained permission from PC Magazine to include 3 programs
with PC-DeskTeam that allow you to remove PC-DeskTeam and other memory
resident TSRs from memory. Read the Topic "Install & Remove TSR" on
the Manual menu for further information. These programs are only
provided with a registration diskette.
