		    Logitech Windows NT mouse drivers
		    =================================

 This Windows NT mouse driver is still under development and has not been 
 extensively tested. This driver is provided to help Windows NT Beta 
 testers utilize their Logitech mice under the March 1993 release of Windows 
 NT.

 This NT mouse driver is provided "as is". Logitech does not warrant that 
 this driver will meet users requirements, or that it will function in 
 combination with other software or hardware which may be selected for use by 
 users. LOGITECH MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATION ABOUT COMPATIBILITY OF
 THIS DRIVER WITH ANY PC-COMPATIBLE PLATFORM. IN NO EVENT SHALL LOGITECH BE 
 LIABLE FOR LOST PROFIT, LOST DATA, LOST OR DAMAGED PROGRAMS, OR ANY 
 CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF THIS DRIVER.

 How To Install:
 ---------------
 
 Logitech Windows NT mouse driver is provided in a self-extracting .EXE
 file format. After you have downloaded LMOUSENT.EXE, proceed with the 
 following steps:

 1] Copy LMOUSENT.EXE to a temporary directory on the hard drive (i.e., \TEMP)
 2] Log onto this temporary directory by typing:

 CD \TEMP.............where TEMP is the directory in which LMOUSENT.EXE exists

 3] Uncompress LMOUSENT.EXE by typing:

 LMOUSENT.............then press Enter
 
 4] Start Windows NT
 5] Select the RUN command from the FILE menu and type in:

 C:\TEMP\INSTALL......then press Enter

 6] Once the installation is completed, select Shutdown from the File menu
 in order to restart NT and cause the new changes to take effect.
 7] If you experience any difficulties getting your mouse to work with this
 new mouse driver under Windows NT, edit the last two lines of the INSTALL.INI
 by removing the semicolons then rerun the INSTALL.BAT once again
 
 Note: The original mouse driver is backed up to the same file name with the
       .BAK file extension.

 1) SERMOUSE.SYS which supports all of Logitech Serial mice. All Serial mice 
 previously supported (before installing this driver) by the old SERMOUSE.SYS 
 driver are also supported.

 Compatibility:
 --------------

 This driver is compatible with the Windows NT SDK March release.

 Advanced features like orientation for the Logitech TrackMan line of 
 Pointing Devices is not currently implemented.

 Troubleshooting:
 ----------------

 - If the mouse doesn't respond, make sure it that works correctly under DOS.
   
 - This driver is needed if you previously experienced a "jumping" cursor 
   on the screen under Windows NT. 

 - If you are using a Serial mouse under DOS, you may have to turn your 
   computer off before restarting Windows NT or unplug the mouse to power 
   it down, otherwise the mouse may not be recognized under NT. An alternative
   solution might be to reload the Logitech DOS mouse driver with the 
   parameter "1200" to reset the mouse to 1200 baud. This can be done by 
   loading the mouse driver under DOS by typing the following command:
		
	       MOUSE 1200
 
*  This is currently due to a limitation of NtDetect.

 - You can override the Windows NT detection by modifying the registry. Look
   the Install.Ini file that came with this package and read the comments 
   in this file.
  
 - The installation enables the serial mouse driver. If you need to change
   the state of a mouse driver: 
	
	a. Select DEVICES from Windows NT Control Panel
	b. Select the mouse driver (i.e., Sermouse.sys)
	c. Click the Startup button
	d. You can disable the driver by changing the Startup option to 
	   "Disable" or enable it by selecting "System"
