Msg #20 of 28 Time: 10 Jan 97 10:51:46 From: Colin Fisher-McAllum To : All Subj: WAG News... ---------[TRASHAREA]----------------------------------------------- AREA:42_ATARI_SUPPORT Hi everyone !! :-) This happens to be Richard Spowart (Felice of the Maggie Team) - doing the report this time, as a certain other person (Dave) decided to drop out after being voted in as secretary ... :-) Quite a large amount of members attended the recent WAG meeting on the 14th of December, 1996, the only regular member missing was in the shape of Si Gardner, who had a bit of a cold. :-( Myself, Chris Holland, Dave Hollis and a guy called Stuart were there, along with Colin Fisher-McAllum, Simon Coward, Roy Goring, Mick Lock, Chris Good and another guy from Oxford whose name I forget right now. Also Chris Bloy attended. However, we were just the regulars ... a few other people also turned up, whose names I didn't catch, but they appeared to enjoy the meeting as it went along. As this meet was the AGM, voting was carried out for all of the positions. Mick Lock was re-elected as WAGmaster, Roy Goring as WebMaster, Norman Bland as Treasurer and Dave Hollis (editor of ST+ diskmag). The general theme of the meeting was down to the voting etc, but probably the program that was in use most of the afternoon was one of the final beta versions of WebSpinner, the new prog from 42BBS Wonderprogrammer, Simon Coward. Virtually everyone helped Roy sort out the fact that the shiny new CD-ROM drive he'd bought was ... um ... a faulty one. Luckily Col managed to bring his identical one with him, so this was OK. Mick Lock brought a copy of PixArt 3 with him with the intention of trying it out .. but he couldn't find anywhere to set up his ST. There were 5 Falcons and 1 ST setup (including monitors) on the table, so it was a bit of a squeeze. The guy from Oxford had part of his ST housed inside a PC case, with the Freekeys separate keyboard unit from Sys Sols. He looked to be into music and MIDI, judging by the extra dangly bits and pieces that were protruding from his ST's cartridge port !! The meeting ended shortly after tea, with Chris's Holland and Bloy being sent round to the fish shop to get everyone some fish and chips. The next meeting was fixed for the 18th of January 1997, hopefully we'll see you there same time same place, eh !! As I have volunteered and made a verbal agreement with Roy to produce this meeting text, I have decided to stand for the post of Secretary at the next meeting. Hopefully you'll all support me.
