System Solutions Press release - March 1997 StraTos A sensational new product from the famous C-Lab company will be available from System Solutions soon. Atari Notator and Creator users are the prime targets for the StraTos card, an ST computer on a PC plug-in card. StraTos is a true ST compatible computer with "real" MIDI in/out, serial and parallel ports. It shares the screen, floppy and hard drive of the PC but has it's own memory. So where's the catch? There is none. Notator SL users will be able to use their original dongle, even LOG 3 works and the program runs more than 3 times faster! The cursor now follows the score notation in realtime, and the MIDI timing is as good as on the original Atari. This card will prove a real winner for all Atari users who want to migrate to the PC but wanted to keep their favourite Atari programs. System Solutions hope to have stock of the card April/May and the really good news is that it will be priced at only £299.00 inc. VAT RSVE - £29.95 Ð High Speed Modem connection Ð new low price. With the advent of higher speed modems such as 33.6 etc. the Atari's 19200 serial port is showing it's age. If you have a modem or are thinking of buying one you will require higher speed connection. The RSVE is a small hardware/software solution allowing higher connection speeds of 38,400 and 57,500 right up to 115200 on an accelerated ST. Connection of the board to the ST is a relatively easy task with the new redesigned board which has only four wires to be connect from the RSVE chip to the computer (this is fitted internally). Also included with the package is a floppy disk containing software which remaps the Atari RS232 timings allowing RSVE to work with your modem. Texel - New English version. The 'be all and end all' spreadsheet for the Atari. The long awaited for English version to be released at the Atari show s - £79.95 Hades Ð StarTrack The Hades is overtaking the Atari Falcon Ð fast! StarTrack is a new development for Direct to Disk recording managing 99 audio tracks. The Hades 060 processor can handle up to 14 live tracks without DSP. StarTrack hardware is on a VME card i.e. it also works on the Atari TT. The VME card comes with a HQ 2 track A/D and D/A converters, SPDIF coaxial and optical interfaces which are software switchable. The A/D converters are of exceptionally high quality comparing well with DAT recorders, unlike the Falcon's A/DÐD/A section. Up to 4 VME can be used at once to get 8 analogue in/outputs. A Falcon compatible DSP will be available soon for realtime sound effects, as well as Falcon compatible digital connectivity i.e. all devices designed for the Falcon digital port will work on the Hades StarTrack board. StarTrack will be shown for the first time in the UK at the Atari Show Days in Middlesex and London during April 1997.
