** PD/Shareware review / 219 words ** Stewart v1.10e beta 89% Utility, Shareware, MagiC (v3 or later) required Author: John McLoud Email: Lara_und_John@t-online.de http://home.t-online.de/home/lara_und_john/home_e.htm ** S_DIALOG here Stewart is one of those cute utilities you'll either love or hate. Stewart offers a variety of tweaks to change the look and feel of the straight-laced MagiC interface as shown in the main dialog. This open beta release, which can only be used by existing registered Stewart users, offers two new features: ** UL ** * Replacement MagiC popup menu. This offers the following advantages over the built-in menu: + Applications are listed after the other entries. + Applications are sorted alphabetically. + Mini-icons can be displayed (StIc also required). + Option to switch to the Mac Finder (for MagiCMac users). + Long filename support. * Ability to install Start Me Up! (SMU) icon in the menu bar - instead of the usual button on the desktop. The icon is user definable via a RSC file. ** /UL ** Although this is a beta release the German version was released just over a year ago and I've been using it without problems for several months, or to put it another way - there's no reason for existing users not to give it a try. Registration costs œ7 via InterActive. ** italics ** Joe Connor ** /italics ** ** Images ** Use at least the popup, ideally both ** S_POPUP ** SMU_MENU.GIF
