** Maggie pages review / 215 words ** K 90% Entertainment - Playable preview Falcon only ** K.GIF here K is a promising "Mario Kart" style game for the Falcon. The game is being developed by French demo coders EXA, who are also reported to be working on projects for the mysterious Centek "Phenix" super-Falcon clone. What we have here would not disgrace that computer, or indeed, a standard stock Falcon, which this preview runs quite happily on. The preview is a lush looking, if slightly limited, single training track level. The graphics are drawn by David "Flan" Delattre, so the cutesy bunnies which normally proliferate in their demo releases in the driving seats of the karts in front! The rest of the graphics, from the introduction and menu screens, through to the in-game graphics, are all of the very highest standard, on a par with top console games. I'm not surprised the full version of the game will be a commercial release. The gameplay is a superior version of the basic "Mario Kart" premise - in addition to racing the other cars on the circuit, there are also bonus power-ups to assist the player. Obstacles, such as walls and water are not just for show with amusing possibilities such as "flooding" the engine of your kart if you drive into a lake! The full release version of this game should be another milestone in gaming on the Falcon in the same league as Running and Crown of Creation, with extra features such as a linked-Falcon full multi-player mode! This one is one my wish list! ** italics ** Chris Holland ** /italics **
