** 1 page review / 411 words ** Foundation Two Paranoia Solution Software evolution - a retrospective by Mad Butscher ** SOLUTION.GIF here Solution Software was a German Software developer, created by Thorsten Butschke and Oliver Heun. ESLA League Manager III was the first release to be reviewed the UK and our Pipemania style Rollercoaster Experience follow up, notched up a creditable 81% in ST Format before the UK magazines threw in the towel. ** PIPE.GIF here A year later Solution released Nightfall, a Risk style strategy game which can be played by up to eight players. Nightfall featured decent graphics and a plethora of customisation options. But Trios was the first, and perhaps, most original release. Trios is a puzzle game with cool graphics and simple addictive gameplay which involved moving and crushing stones to reach the next level. ** NIGHTFAL.GIF here ** TRIOS.GIF here After releasing Nightfall Solution split, into Paranoia Programming and Foundation Two. Paranoia just released STEtris, a cool Tetris clone which takes maximum advantage of the extra STe hardware capabilities - and there's Falcon compatibility planned for the final release. ** STETRIS.GIF here Paranoid is also working on another new game in the style of another classic, called Breakdance, which will feature some quite popular Atari scene people and has been active creating graphics for other projects. ** SUNSHINE.GIF here Foundation Two has released Sunshine, the first (and only?) Falcon dice game based on a popular pub game where the aim is to throw particular combinations. Sunshine was Mad Butscher's first attempt programming in C and contains multilingual sampled speech in English, German and French. ** DRY_EGG.GIF here Only three months later Foundation Two released Dry Egg for the Falcon. Dry Egg is loosely based on dominoes except you place triangles next to each other. There's also the possibility of a Monopoly style game to come for the Falcon but these days the Mad Butscher doesn't have so much free time and may retire from the ST scene and switch platforms to... Atari XE/XL 8-bit machines - that surprised you didn't it? So far he coded and released a Shanghai style 8-bit game called Taifun, and a beta version of a mixture between Golf and billiards, called Bembel Wo - you can check it out using one of the Atari 8-bit emulators, or better still get hold of the real thing! ** boxout ** Contacts: ** BC ** Thorsten Butschke, Blucherstr. 26, 65195 Wiesbaden, Germany Email: tbutschk@mainz-online.de Oliver Heun, App.1012 Max Hufschmidtstr. 15, 55130 Mainz, Germany Email: paranoid@cyberstrider.org ** /BC ** ** /boxout **
