Freedom¿ v1.15e - The English demo version 5th November 1995
===========================================================================
FREEDOM.APP  = Demo version
REGISTER.APP = Application to create a registered version

The following restrictions apply to the demo version:

-Only the first four characters in editable fields can be changed.
This means you can't easily create a new folder or file longer than four
characters although you can easily rename files via the Info dialog etc!
-The filesize in the file selector and 'Object Info' dialog is replaced
 with the string '<Demo!>'

Quick Installation guide
========================
-Add FFSEL.PRG (or FFSELR.PRG) to your Auto folder
-Rename FREEDOM.APP to FREEDOM.ACC to install as an accessory
-Copy FREEDOM folder to the root directory of your boot drive/partition
-Load FREEDOM.CNF into any ASCII text editor (eg Everest) and read through
the options. You need to set up the paths and files to suit your system
otherwise you won't be able to try all Freedom¿'s features.
-Under a multitasking operating system Freedom¿ can be started as an
 application at any time:
-Under MagiC from the APPS folder
 -Under MiNT in GEM.CNF

A few things you should try
---------------------------
-Load FREEDOM.CNF into any ASCII text editor and peruse the options,
everything can be configured using this file, the directory display,
colours, font, icons, file masks etc.
-Try left and right mouse mouse click and hold actions everywhere, all
 sorts of magical things happen!
-Freedom¿ is designed to take advantage of the features available via an
AV-Server or under a multitasking OS.
If you're single tasking try using Freedom¿ using either an alternative
desktop such as Thing/Gemini/no|desk(Shareware) or Ease/Neodesk4
(commercial). Using these desktops files can be Drag&Dropped between the
desktop, desktop windows and Freedom¿. Try installing an editor, which
supports the AV protocol, (eg Everest) onto the desktop then Drag&Drop
several text files onto the editor icon, it really does work!
-Open a second Freedom¿ selector (by right clicking on the Freedom¿ logo)
then try Drag&Drop operations between the two selectors!
-Set up several search operations calling the search dialog, using
[Control]+[Shift]+F, start one, then the others in turn, when they're all
whirring away close Freedom¿ and they carry on working!
-If you have a fast machine start a copy/move operation then continue
 working!
-Be sure to try the 'Type' sort option...

So why bother with these annoying restrictions?
-----------------------------------------------
These minor limitations enable everyone to test ALL the features in
Freedom¿ (non modality, Drag&Drop, icons, configurable, long filename
support, intuitive operation etc. etc...) without giving away months of
long hard work for nothing!

30,-DM (œ16 in the UK) is a fair amount and look forward to receiving your
contribution to assure the continued development of Freedom¿.

How to use REGISTER.APP
-----------------------
If you received your registration details by Email you can cut and save
the Name:, Street:, Place: and Key: fields to a file called FREEDOM.REG.
If you place this file in the same directory as REGISTER.APP and run
REGISTER.APP it should pick up your key details automatically.

1) Create FREEDOM.REG and place in same directory as REGISTER.APP
2) Check you have at least 600Kb free memory
3) Run REGISTER.APP
4) If your details don't appear here, enter them manually
5) Select the destination directory to place your registered copy.
6) A personalised copy encrypted with your details is created.

REGISTER.APP does not check the key details are correct. If you have
entered incorrect details your computer will normally hang. In any event
perform a cold boot before trying again! Following a successful
registration a short piece of music is played so if your computer is
equipped to handle DMA sound crank up the volume :-)

For more details refer to FREEDOM.TXT!

And now have fun testing Freedom¿!
