                        Character Editor Docs


This is the first version of the character editor.  Future versions will
include the ability to edit any character on the disk, and even create
new characters from scratch.

To edit a character:

1) If the character doesn't yet exist, create him/it.  Just boot up the
   Alternate Reality game, and select New Character, put in your character
   disk, and type in the name of your new character.  Don't worry about
   trying to get good stats, just hit the spacebar.

2) Start up the character editor program.  When it says so, put your character
   disk in drive A.

3) Edit your character according to your favorite desires...  Watch out for
   values that go beyond 32767, because weird things could happen if you use
   them.  Anyways, who wants more than 32000 gold or 32000 hit points??  I
   know this is a stupid bug, but I've been real pressed for time lately and
   this program wasn't at the top of my priority list.  What a copout.

4) Select 'WRITE' to write out the new character to your character disk.

COULD IT BE ANY SIMPLER??
