What is the Internet?
The Internet is the term used to describe the collection of
computers around the world that are all linked together. The World
Wide Web (WWW or Web) is used to describe the collection of hypertext
computers that contain text, graphics, sound, etc. Most pages you see
on the Internet have some form of hypertext. This means there may
be links which you can select to go to other pages.
You can explore the vast quantity of information that makes up the
Internet using this machine. You can have instant access to
up-to-date
information at your fingertips. For example, you can browse for anything from
business information and leisure activities, to tourist information and
online magazines. In fact, anything you want to find will probably be on the
Internet.
The Internet is also used for sending and receiving electronic messages (E-mail).
E-mail can be a very quick and convenient way of communicating with
other people around the world. These days, when you get an account
with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) you are often given an one
or more email
addresses.
This Internet browser (DR-WebSpyderTM) allows you to view
Internet pages and helps you navigate around the Internet. You can also
use it to send and receive E-mail using the easy to use interface.
