C.A.R.R.S "Night.EXE" For Volume 1 The disc contains 12000 (IBM) zip files. These zip files have from 1 to 150 files with-in. The files may be something as complex as QMODEM4(c) or as simple as a single text file with someone's opinion about anything. The Night program list all the files for you to view on the screen and gives you the Name of the directory they are located in on the top line of the file listing. As you are scanning the list for files and you see a program you would like to have copyed or would like to look at all you do is hit the HOME KEY and it will take you to a shell program and follow the instructions and then copy your file and when you finish type EXIT and you will return to the program to continue the file listing. TO USE THE Night PROGRAM: 1.) Night can be started from the CDROM root directory or put into the path and run from any drive/directory in the computer. * When run from the CDROM root directory, simply type: Night 2.) After the program has been started, a menu of the categories will be presented. Use the ARROW KEYS and the HOME/END to scroll through the files 3.) After you seen a file you like, press HOME. you will see more instructions to help you on this part of the program. 4.) After you exit back, you can contiune to BROWSED or SEARCHED. * To BROWSE the catalog, simply use the PageUp and PageDn keys to move between new/old screens of files. Use the UP and DOWN arrow keys. 5) You will also find a file called List72a.zip in directory 030A that is public domain that you can configure use for reading docs and unarcing files below will give you a brief example on how that program works you get the file of the Cdrom and unarc it on to your drive and the type list and then read the docs and config it to your spec. (EXAMPLE: List INSTRUCT.DOC. In most cases the command would be LIST INSTRUCT.DOC). NOTE: Running a .exe or .com file via NIGHT is not always the best choice. If the desired program requires a command line input the program will try to run, fail and return to the dos prompt.
