LinkSys WPC-11 V.3 NDIS driver for OS/2 NOTE: This is a beta version of the driver, NO official release. Please keep it confidential. Installation instructions: Use the DDINSTAL function or copy the files manually: WPC11.OS2 and WPC11.NIF to \IBMCOM\PROTOCOL all others to \IBMCOM. Use MPTS to configure the driver parameters. You can specify an I/O address and an Interrupt which should be used. Because Interrupts seem to be problematic with the LinkSys Card, the default is set to use polling with TIMER0.SYS instead of an interrupt. Additional Debug option: The "Debug verbosity level" can adjust the amount of information which will be written to the LANTRAN.LOG file. The value is a bit field, and the bits have the following meaning: 0x0001 "...is loaded and operational." 0x0002 Link Status messages 0x0004 Card Services messages, except for socket information 0x0008 NDIS-messages 0x0020 IOCTL-messages 0x8000 Socket information WifiStat Tool: Use WifiIcon.cmd to create an icon on the desktop. The tool shows the card status and the signal strength as a bar. You can save and select up to 4 profiles for connection settings - the last active profile will be loaded at the next start of the WifiStat tool. Things that need to be tested: practically everything, but especially very large data transfers (single direction and concurrent, if possible using different protocols), suspend/resume, card removal/card insertion. A good test is enabling DEBUG_LEVEL=0xFFFF in the protocol.ini and running the WifiStat Tool - This generates concurrent accesses to the driver from two different sources. Bug Reports: Please report bugs to LinkSysBug@os2-wireless.de.
