Installing a Compaq OS/2 Driver Follow the procedures given below:
1. Run DDINSTAL.EXE from the OS/2 command prompt. When prompted for the source,
insert the OS/2 SSD System and Storage Drivers Diskette and give the source path
as required.
DDINSTAL copies the driver file to the OS2 directory on the boot drive and adds
the required
statement to the CONFIG.SYS file. For example, in case of the Compaq Fibre
Channel
Array Controller, the following line is added in config.sys (if the entry is not
already present):
BASEDEV=CPQFCAL.ADD
2. Edit the CONFIG.SYS file to reorder the other ADD driver's BASEDEV lines to
provide
the desired controller order. For further information on Controller Ordering,
see
Controller Ordering.
3. Save the CONFIG.SYS file and exit the editor.
4. Shutdown OS/2 and reboot the system to load the new driver.
Note: Following care should be taken if you want to install the driver
in a different path:
1) For the Compaq health driver and the Compaq System Management driver, if you
want
to install these drivers in a path other than the default path, after exiting
DDINSTAL, edit
the CONFIG.SYS to change the following line:
RUN=X:\OS2\CPQHLTH.EXE
to
RUN=X:\YourPath\CPQHLTH.EXE
2) For drivers that require a BASEDEV entry in CONFIG.SYS, DO NOT change the
destination path.
