1.0 Introduction

This file contains the installation procedures for the BIOS-32 Integrated Management
Log driver for IBM OS/2 Operating system

2.0 Features

The BIOS-32 driver provides non-reentrant access to the BIOS-32 Integrated
Management Log (IML) functions on the Compaq Servers that support the IML.

The BIOS-32 driver is required for supporting Integrated Management Logging by the
following Compaq drivers/applications:

*  Compaq Array Driver (v3.15 and above)
*  Compaq SCSI Driver (v2.31 and above)
*  Adaptec SCSI Driver (v10.2 and above)
*  Compaq Fibre Channel Driver (v1.0 and above)
*  Compaq Health Driver (v3.10 and above)
*  Compaq Remote Insight Board Driver (v2.00 and above)
*  Compaq Insight Management Agent for OS/2 (v3.30 and above)

The BIOS-32 driver is also required for supporting controller hot-plug
feature by the following Compaq drivers/applications:

*  Compaq Array Driver (v3.60 and above)
*  Compaq SCSI Driver (v2.70 and above)
*  Compaq Fibre Channel Driver (v1.20 and above)

3.0 Relevant Files

CPQB32.HTM - This file.
CPQB32.SYS - Compaq BIOS-32 device driver on OS/2.
BIOS32.EXE - File used by DDINSTAL.EXE
CPQB32.DDP - Installation command file used by DDINSTAL.EXE.
Copies the driver to the hard disk and makes the appropriate entry in config.sys.

4.0 Installation of BIOS-32 Integrated Management Log Support

Please follow the procedures in Installing a Compaq OS/2 Driver
for installing the Compaq Bios-32 helper driver. You must specify the source path as
"A:\CPQB32"

5.0 Disabling the BIOS-32 Integrated Management Log Support

Please follow the steps outlined below to remove the BIOS-32 Integrated Management
Log support from your system.

1. Modify the CONFIG.SYS file in the root directory of your system. You will
need to REMOVE the following line from CONFIG.SYS:
BASEDEV=CPQB32.SYS
After the modification, the BASEDEV entry corresponding to the BIOS-32 driver
should look as follows :
REM BASEDEV=CPQB32.SYS

2. The IML support will not be active on reboot of OS/2.

6.0 Notes

If it is necessary to upgrade the Compaq 32-bit helper driver after it is already
active on the system, follow these steps:

1. Insert the OS/2 Support Software Diskette 2 labeled "OS/2 System and Storage Drivers - 2"
in the floppy drive and follow the installation procedure described in Installing a Compaq OS/2 Driver.
You must specify the source path as "A:\CPQB32"

2. The next time OS/2 is started the new driver will be loaded.
