This is the iFrame Applet, inserted into a tabled layout.

A great use for the applet, this technique allows you to just change the copy in the text file that iFrame reads whenever you need to do updates... you never actually have to touch the HTML code of a sensitive layout like this one.

Since both the background color of the iFrame page and the text color are settable, it's also easy to blend in with the surrounding graphics.

In this layout, one large graphic is used in the table background, and an animated gif is used (to the left) to add interest to the design. Transparent gifs of various sizes are used to position the various elements.

Another consideration is that the iFrame applet allows you to get more text into a small spot in your layout, making better use of your page real estate.

The iFrame applet also allows you to set scrollbar policy (none, vertical, horizontal, or both).

Text files for the applet can be prepared in NotePad or any plain text editor, and the iFrame applet does accept tabs, and *does* auto-wrap your text.

Set-up of the applet is also quite simple, with few parameters. Clear documentation and the site demos come with the download kit.

The iFrame applet is fully tested on generation 4 and later browsers, including Netscape 4&up, MSIE 4&up, and the NeoPlanet browsers.
