RELEASE NOTES FOR SPEAKUP VERSION 2.0 2/23/2000
=====================================================

Item 1
--------
SpeakUp! has a new data field called "Approved". When items are added, the
Approved field is blank. Administrators have the option to approve the
items, even before they are "replied to". That means that an Administrator
can see a suggestion or question and if they deem it appropriate, they can
release it to the general public. At a later time, they can reply to the
item.

Item 2
--------
To release/approve an item, you need to log in as Administrator. Then, edit
any suggestion/question... there is a new "Release this Item" list box, your
available choices are "Yes" and "No". It is important to note that until
you manually select "Yes", the item will not be available for others to
view.

Item 3
--------
All items that are awaiting approval will still show up on the screens, but
the text of the suggestion or question reads:

"*** This item is under review and will be released shortly."

Without doing it this way, the users will add an item and they will think
that SpeakUp! didn't accept their item. At least this way they can see their
item has been added, but is awaiting approval before it is viewable by all.

Item 4
--------
Users will not be able to print items that are not Approved. However,
management reports will include the items into the totals.

Item 5
----------
Included in this download is the SUUPDATE.EXE. This is the conversion
program that will convert your current SPEAKUP.DBF into the new format.

Installation instructions
-------------------------------

- Make a backup of the entire SpeakUp directory.

- Unzip the SPEAKUP.ZIP file in a temp directory. Run the SETUP.EXE. This
will install all the DLL files and the new exe files. It will not
overwrite your data. (The setup program will ask where to install the
files. Select your network directory where SpeakUp! is installed)

- In the network SpeakUp! directory, get to a DOS prompt and run the
"SUUPDATE.EXE" program. You must do this prior to attempting to run
SpeakUp!. Otherwise, SpeakUp! will give you an error.

If you have any problems with the install and need to go back to the
original data and programs, copy the data from your original backup
directory that you created before the new install.
