Release Notes, Blur 'N' Feather 1.0

Supported Hosts
Blur 'N' Feather, whilst a 32 Bit Photoshop 4 Filter, was designed specifically for use with trueSpace 3.1 or 3.2. Consequently, operation cannot be guaranteed under Photoshop or any host software other than trueSpace. If you have used Blur 'N' Feather successfully under another program please let me know and I'll add it to the list of supported hosts. Note: to be fully supported the plugin host must pass the entire image to Blur 'N' Feather, not just the minimal selected area. Since Blur 'N' Feather operates on pixels outside the selection it must be able to access them.

Alpha Channels
If you are rendering to a 32 bit image in trueSpace, Blur 'N' Feather will unfortunately cause corruption (full selection) of the alpha channel in your image. This is not due to any problems with Blur 'N' Feather but is because trueSpace does not pass an alpha channel into the filter. This can be partially worked around by using the export option to save the feathered mask.

Masks
There is another bug in trueSpace which affects Blur 'N' Feather. When rendering the mask, transparency from a texture or procedural material is not rendered to the selection mask by trueSpace except when previewing the material. If you are using these type of transparencies the entire visible object will be masked when blurring, not just the visible texture.

File Export
Images of resolution 76x74 pixels will not be exported to file. This is to ensure that images of the preview window do not turn up unexpectedly in animation sequences.
