Colour Burn
Colour burn allows you to modify the colour of the blurred area to simulate fire or similar effects. Thanks to Alvaro Gregori, author of
AfterBurner for
this suggestion and code.
---->
Colour burn is applied post-blur and recolours all blurred pixels to a colour gradient
based on their intensity. The standard gradient runs from black to red to yellow to white.
These colours can be modified to an extent and set points can be specified for each colour. The burn dialog appears when burn is selected in the main dialog. If you close the window and wish to access it again simply deselect, then reselect the burn option.
Red set point (0-255). Click on the button to change the set point colour (red,green,blue).
Yellow set point (0-255). Click on the button to change the set point colour (cyan,yellow,magenta). Depends on first colour.
White set point (0-255).

Hints
Set Background Fill to black and deselect
Replace Background for best results. This will
ensure that the blur fades to black at the edges. You can also modify the Mask Fill to the same effect. Paint the object you are burning flat white to make sure you using the top end of the colour map as well. Messing with the colours used and placing illogical set points can create some psychedelic gradients. See Mask Operations for more info on colour filling.
