BABYLONIA 2.0 - ENGLISH
Copyright (c) 2000 Hofsoft

Perhaps you also think that cramming words is not the most pleasant thing of
learning a foreign language. With a computer you can do that more quickly and
more efficiently, but also in a more pleasant way. That's why Babylonia was
written. It's easy: you enter the words in your course book, you set a couple of
them for a test and you can start.

There are several options for setting words for a test. In a test the words you
have set, are asked in random order. There are two kinds of tests: exercises and
exams.
In an exercise words that you don't master so well yet, are asked more often
than other words. For that purpose a score is remembered for each separate word.
When the score is sufficient, a word won't be asked anymore. The scores are also
preserved when you abort an exercise. That way you can continue later where you
left off.
In an exam a certain number of questions is asked and in the end you get a mark.
Before the exam you can set the number of words that Babylonia has to ask. Then
Babylonia makes a random selection of that number of words from all words that
you have set for a test.

In a wordlist you can also store other information than words and scores. You
can enter for each word in what lesson it occurs, you can add a context, and you
can record the pronunciation of a word. If you have recorded the pronunciation
of a word, then Babylonia can also take a listen test or a dictation.

An important disadvantage of a computer is that it's not easy to enter words in
another script, like Greek. In Babylonia that has been taken into account and in
the extensive help file you can find extra information on especially East-
European languages. If you need help with a certain language, you can also
contact Hofsoft.

At last Babylonia also has standard functions like finding and sorting, and you
can exchange wordlists with other programs. Printing wordlists is not yet
possible in Babylonia, but you can export a wordlist to a text file and open it
in another program to print it.

REGISTRATION

Babylonia is shareware. As long as you haven't registered the program, you're
using an evaluation version. The evaluation version has two limitations: it can
only be used during the evaluation period of 20 days and you can use at most 30
words in a wordlist.

The registered version of Babylonia has no limitations. If you order Babylonia,
you will receive a registration code for 29 euro or 29 US$. You can enter the
code in the program to take away the limitations. It's also possible to receive
the program on 3.5 inch disk for 39 euro or 39 US$. As a registered user you can
