Information about connection is used by WEB-related service such as WEB checkers and WEB-POP3 gates. It is not used by POP3 checkers. For each WEB-related service you have mode for Internet connection as at right image. You can choose any from those possibilities. When you change information in properties for
Alternative connection it has effect to all services which will use Alternative connection.

When you connect to Internet through settings as in Internet Explorer first of all that you must to get connection through Internet Explorer. Here some things which you must make for successful connection.

Connection
through Alternative settings
For most web-mail services you must use Alternative connection. If your web-mail do not use HTTPS protocol it is recommended. Connection propertiess is configured in the window below.
If you not use proxy servers then unmark Use connection through proxy. In case when you use proxy you must mark this field and fill in all fields Proxy host, Proxy port, Proxy user and Proxy password If your proxy server do not demand authentication then leave field Proxy user and Proxy password as empty.
If your mail server expect only certain browser you can enter identify string in Agent name field. But most of servers ignore this so usually you do not need do it.
