1. What is SUPERSUBMIT?

This application shall get your Sites/URLs(Uniform Resource Locators) registered with Search Engines. You would have to fill in the information regarding your URL, select the Search Engines that you want to submit to and then press the "Submit" button to register the URL.

2. What steps do I need to follow to register my URLs?
You would need to follow three steps:
Step 1:
------
Click the 'Site Information' button and enter your site URL, Site title, category (i.e. whether your site is to be listed under auto, business, computers etc.). Remember the category information is search engine dependent. You would also need to enter your email and name. The description field allows you to enter a few words describing the content of your site and its purpose. Enter keywords that would help surfers reach your site easily. 

Step 2:

Click the 'Search Engines' button and select the sites that you would like to submit to. 

Step 3:
-------
Click on 'Submit' to submit your URLs. If all your inputs are valid you will get the following message 'Your URL was successfully submitted to the sites selected'. The 'Reset' button clears all your entries. 
		
3. What if I have filled in erroneous information and have myself registered?

Well, you have to be careful about that, as even erroneous information will get registered with these search engines. Your best bet, in such a scenario, is to re-submit correct information. 

4. What do you mean by "Title"?

This term would mean the Title that best describes your URL. 

5. What do you mean by "Category"?

Most of the Search Engines would want to categorize your URL into specific categories such as Software, Books, News...etc according to the subject of the URL. This would help in faster retrieval of your URL when a user wants a listing of such sites from these Search engines.

6. What do you mean by "Description"?

You would have to give a brief description about your URL. I.e. What it is all about.

7. What do you mean by "Keyword"?

These would be words, which would help in the Search Process. For example, if I want only those sites to be listed which have something to do with "Car Industry", I would just type "Car Industry" in the space provided in Search engines like Yahoo and I would get a listing of all those sites which correspond to this Keyword.

8. When I try to "Submit", error information gets displayed, why does this happen?

Please check the information you have entered. You may have entered a faulty E-mail address or you may have not filled certain fields.
Remember, E-mail is always specified in the following format: 
Yourname@company.com
For example, jspace@itil.com

9. What are "Search Engines"?

The Internet is a vast pool of scattered information and it becomes extremely difficult to move around here. To help locate certain specific content/ sites; there are Internet services to aid you to find such sites/ content. These are called "Search Engines". 

10. If I have problems in running SUPERSUBMIT, what do I do?

11. Will I get updates to this product?

As and when there are update versions available, you would be notified of such situations via e-mail. You will get free updates to this product for one year.

12. How do I install this application?

The complete application is available as:
1. Self Extracting zip file for Windows 95/ 98/ NT  :  ssubmit0000.zip	
2. Self Extracting zip file for Linux		    :  ssubmit0150.zip 
3. Tar file for Unix				    :  ssubmit0070.tar

This application would have to be extracted to a directory. Once extracted, SuperSubmit.jar, swingall.jar, faqs.txt & a few image/ gif files would be present in the directory.

The jar file has to be specified in the CLASSPATH settings on your system.

For the Windows Platform:
   To install this application you would need to do the following: 

   1. Open your autoexec.bat. This file is located in c:
   2. Add the following line: <drive>:\<directory where the
      SuperSubmit.jar file is>\SuperSubmit.jar;<drive>:\<directory 	 	where the swingall.jar file is>swingall.jar. 
	For example, if I have downloaded the SuperSubmit.jar file to the 	C:\SuperSubmit directory, 
      I would add the following line to the autoexec.bat file: 
      CLASSPATH=       C:\SuperSubmit\SuperSubmit.jar;C:\SuperSubmit\swingall.jar
   3. Restart your system
   4. In the directory that you have installed your SuperSubmit.jar you 
      will find a SuperSubmit.bat file. Run this file and SuperSubmit is       
      ready to be used.

For the Linux Platform:
    To install this application in Linux with the Bash shell:
	
    1. export CLASPATH=$CLASSPATH:./SuperSubmit.jar;./swingall.jar
    2. The operations are to be done on the x console

13. What do I do about Proxy settings?

If you have a direct connection with the Internet via a dial-up, you do not have to do any settings in the program.
If you are working within a LAN/ Intranet, you will have to set up the Proxy manually in the program. The Proxy's IP Address and port is required which you can obtain from your System or Network Administrator.

14. What supporting software does this application need for it to work?

This is a Java application and can run on a system of any make provided you have the JRE (Java Runtime Environment) installed in your machine. There are different JREs available for different platforms. If you don't already have a JRE installed on your system, you could get one from http://www.java.sun.com for your System specifications. It is free and can be downloaded from there.

15. I have a JRE installed on my system and the application still does not work, why?
