CD++ v3.06 read-me file. Last updated 26h April '99
===================================================

Release Notes
-------------
This is version 3.06 of CD++, a CD player, sampler and cataloguer for Windows 95
and 98. For more details, please read the Release History section below.

Please report any problems, and feel free to make any other comments on this
release, to the contact addresses at the end of this file.

Copyright and Registration
--------------------------
CD++ is released as shareware. This means that you may use the software freely
for evaluation purposes; if you continue to use the software after the one-month
evaluation period, you should register it. Registration entitles you to support,
and free updates; it should also make you feel good for supporting the shareware
principle. Registration can be done on-line; please see the on-line
documentation for details.

The copyright to this software remains with the author. Any trademarks used in
any of the files constituting the software are recognised. The software may be
freely distributed, in the form of this archive, as long as:

1. All the files, including this Read-me file, are included unaltered in the
distribution.
2. No charge is made for the software except for reasonable charges for the
distribution media.

If possible, I would like to be informed if the software is included on any
magazine cover CDs or similar distribution media, or reviewed, or included in
any Shareware Archives. This makes it easier for me to handle upgrades and
generally keep track of what versions are where.

Installation:
-------------
Note that CD++ runs under Windows 95/98 only. Windows NT compatibility is
unknown.

1. Expand the archive (if the software is supplied in compressed form, i.e. as a
zipped file).
2. From the Windows 95/98 Start menu, choose 'Run' and browse for the program
"setup.exe" in the folder to which you extracted. Run "setup.exe" to begin
installation.
3. Choose a location to which CD++ will be installed. By default, this version
(Version 3.05) will be installed to the same folder as a previous Version 3.0
installation. Note that catalogues produced by previous versions of the program
are fully compatible with this version.

CD++ can be uninstalled via Control Panel's Add/Remove Program facility. Note
that no system or other DLLs are installed or overwritten by the installation.

Known problems:
---------------
1) CD++ may sometimes be unable to display the Recording Level Peak meter in
real-time during recording. If this is the case, the peak will only be displayed
at the end of recording.
2) Occasionally a Segment recording may be incomplete. CD++ will detect this and
warn that the recording should be re-done.
3) Cancelling out of a Dial Up Networking connection attempt before the
connection is made, e.g. because the line is busy, can sometimes leave the
connection in a state where further attempts to connect will fail (with a
WSAEINVAL error) before DUN even attempts to dial. Workaround: close and restart
CD++ and the connection will be reset.
