SlideShow Overview
SlideShow is an image rotator. Up to 2000 images can be displayed, and each can optionally link to its own URL and Target when clicked, making it ideal for advertising banners or for thumbnail images that link to full size versions. The filepath and/or filename can be displayed on the image. Moving the mouse over the image can pause the image cycling, if desired, and can optionally display a message. Animation options are fully editable, and can be overridden so that each image appears suddenly to replace the last. Images can be positioned at the top-left corner, centered, or scaled to the applet dimensions. When animation is switched on, images can slide from top, bottom, right or left, randomly from any direction, alternating between left and right, or alternating between top and bottom. Since advertising banner-images (in particular) are frequently wide but short, animation speed is separately adjustable for images arriving vertically or horizontally. An additional feature, especially useful when displaying advertizing banners, is SlideShow's intelligent randomization. SlideShow displays the images in a random order, but ensures that no image is displayed more often than any other. After a single pass through the entire collection, the images are 'shuffled' again to be displayed in a different non-preferential order. |
