NetBlaster Overview
NetBlaster provides an easy and effective way to accelerate your site. It does this by pre-caching files from your site so that the browser can load them almost instantly as soon as they're needed. Unlike other accelerators that cache files by following links on your pages, NetBlaster caches only the files you specify, and in the order you choose, giving you complete control. And it isn't only web pages that are cached - images, applets, sounds, you name it! NetBlaster can cache an unlimited number of files (limited to 5 until NetBlaster has been registered).
NetBlaster doesn't dictate how you design your site either: you might choose to place NetBlaster in a permanent contents frame to cache files without being interrupted. But, if you prefer, you can simply paste the same applet code into multiple pages: when a new page opens and NetBlaster restarts, it will continue caching from where it left off rather than beginning the entire process from 'file one'.
NetBlaster also supports a delay-time setting. When a page containing NetBlaster opens, the applet will pause for a number of seconds to give the page time to finish loading before it starts caching. Optional status bar messages show NetBlaster's progress. If a file can't be found (or Java's in-built security prevents its download) NetBlaster will simply skip that file and continue to the next without making a fuss.
