Headliner Overview
Headliner is a news-headline ticker. An unlimited number of 'headlines' can be displayed one by one, each capable of linking to its own URL and frame-target when clicked. These headlines can be set as HTML applet parameters, or listed in a textfile that the applet reads. If you opt for the textfile method of operation, Headliner can be set to re-read the textfile after a user-defined period and refresh its list of headlines and URLs. It will also resize itself automatically to ensure that its width is sufficient to display the longest headline. Unlike many similar tickers, Headliner will pause when the mouse moves over a headline rather than scooting onto the next and forcing the user to wait until it comes around again. The speed of animation (in characters-per-second) is definable, along with the length of time (in seconds) that a complete headline should remain onscreen. The usual wide range of color and font options are included, and our unique Testmode feature makes setting minimum applet dimensions a snap. Headliner also supports the Cool Focus Satellite system. (If that link doesn't lead anywhere, you can find out more by downloading the Satellite package from the Applet Downloads area at Cool Focus.)
