Evaluating The Applet...
This applet is provided for purposes of evaluation and suitability testing. However, it may be freely included on any non-commercial World Wide Web site subject to the terms and conditions given below and in the license. Commercial designers may use this evaluation copy during authoring and prototyping stages and for presentation to clients, but may not publish this copy on any intranet or commercial Web site without valid registration parameters, explained below. If you want to include the applet on a personal homepage, you may still wish to register in order to remove the restrictions mentioned below.

All unregistered Cool Focus applets have the following restrictions:

  • The applet will display our own message for around 4 seconds when starting.

  • All 'Message' parameters that display text in the browser's status bar are ignored. Instead, our own copyright message is displayed when the mouse enters the applet.

  • In applets with a 'Testmode' feature that simplifies the setting-up of the applet, this feature will usually be disabled.

  • Scripted Links features, the Satellite system and Spytracking feature (if supported) will function only when the applet is run on your local system.

  • No support is provided for unregistered applets.

Registering The Applet...
Registering the applet will remove the restrictions listed above: Message parameters and Testmode features will be recognized, and our 4-second message will not be shown, meaning that the applet starts far more quickly and cleanly, and advanced features like Scripted Links and Satellite support will be enabled for online use. In addition, registered users will be entitled to free updates as and when they become available. We also provide unlimited email support, and we'll be happy to try to help out with any Java, HTML or scripting problem that may be bugging you.

When registering, there are two vital pieces of information we'll need from you:

  1. Your email address so that we can send you personalized registration codes for the product(s)

  2. The URL that opens the default page of your site. All registered applets are encoded with this information so that they cannot be accessed from pages on a different server. If you have your own domain, this would be something like www.mycompany.com/. If you're with an ISP, it might be www.myISP.com/~myname/. If you're with GeoCities (or AOL, CompuServe...) it could be something like www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/1028/.

There are several payment/registration options, each of which is briefly outlined below. Multiple licenses may be purchased for a single applet, allowing its use on more than one site, and these are priced on a sliding scale.

  • Online Registration using our secure payment facilities. Most popular credit cards are accepted and payment is usually cleared within just a few seconds. Go to www.coolfocus.com/register and select the applet you wish to register from the list.

  • Using PayMaster to register by secure email. This Win32 utility is a free download from the Downloads section at Cool Focus.

  • Direct Transfer from your bank account to ours. Note that your bank may charge you an exhorbitant rate for doing this simple job. You'll need the following information:

    • Note that without these details your order cannot be processed.

  • Check or Banker's Draft. We'll accept checks (cheques/Czechs, according to taste) made payable to Cool Focus International Ltd in UK pounds or US dollars. If you pay in US dollars, calculate the dollar equivalent of the prices quoted using an exchange rate of £1 = $1.70. Enclose a letter giving the following details:
  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Company name (if applicable)
  • Name of client company requiring applet (if applicable)
  • Name(s) of the product(s) being registered
  • Number of licenses required for each product
  • Amount of payment enclosed
  • URL(s) of the site(s) on which the product(s) will be used (ONE per license)

  • Cash by Mail. If you choose to use this method, note that you accept the entire risk of doing so. We will accept cash payment in UK pounds or US dollars.     Using The Registered Applet...
    After we've received your payment, we'll email you two personalized codes. These codes must be added to your HTML page as applet parameters, and you'll be able to simply copy and paste them from the email we send. Provided the code parameters are correct, and the applet is being run from a document residing at or below the URL you registered it for, the evaluation restrictions will be removed.
