Mailbag Assistant 1.0
=====================
(16 September 1999)

Information
-----------
Mailbag Assistant is a powerful message organizer that complements your e-mail program. This user-friendly utility for Windows is designed to help you view your mailboxes and archives, find and group messages quickly, and create archives with your important e-mails. Mailbag Assistant is well suited for people who value their correspondence, and especially those who receive and keep large amounts of e-mail.

As you master the power of Mailbag Assistant, you will relieve your current e-mail program from the work of organizing your messages and streamlining your mailboxes. As a result, you will have more time to deal with your correspondence. The first release of Mailbag Assistant can open mailboxes from Eudora, Netscape Messenger, Outlook Express 4, Pegasus, The Bat!*, FoxMail*, Calypso**, and Agent**. Mailbag Assistant handles with ease your current mailboxes as well as your archived ones, no matter where they are stored on your computer. The program is safe to use together with your e-mail program, as it does not modify your mailboxes.

Powerful search commands let you find all messages in the grid that match your criteria. The search criteria can contain multiple expressions connected with operators like "and", "but not", and "or". Expressions can consist of dates, text, and regular expression patterns. Searching can be limited to a specific field, or cover the whole message. The search tools in Mailbag Assistant make it easy to group together all related e-mail messages. Other tools let you extract information from messages, like e-mail addresses, traffic details, and word statistics. And a merge command based on customizable templates lets you export your e-mail data in just about any text format you may need.

* Status information is currently not extracted
** Calypso and Agent mailboxes can only be read when they are saved as text files
