MenuSnap can be configured to keep your menus organized without your having to start it manually each time. This is made possible through the use of command line arguments. There are two ways to schedule MenuSnap to run automatically using Windows.

Run at Windows Startup

The first method is to place a shortcut to MenuSnap in your Windows Startup folder. This will cause MenuSnap to run every time Windows is started.

To get MenuSnap to automatically reset the Start Menu on Windows startup:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Taskbar & Start Menu.
2. Click the Start Menu Programs tab.
3. Click Add and in the Location box enter:
"c:\program files\rietta\menusnap\menusnap.exe" /h /m
4. Click Next and then double-click the StartUp folder.
5. Type the name that you want to see on the StartUp menu, and then click Finish.

Note: Depending on where you installed MenuSnap, it might be located somewhere other than the location used in this example. If this is the case, you will need to click the Browse button and locate the menusnap.exe file on your system.

Windows Task Scheduler

Windows 98 and 95 Plus users can configure MenuSnap to run at pre-set times using the Windows Task Manager.

To Add MenuSnap to the scheduled tasks:
1. Open Windows Task Manager by choosing Start Menu > Program Files > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks.
2. Click Add Scheduled Tasks.
3. When the Scheduled Task Wizard appears, read over the directions and click Next.
4. Select MenuSnap from the list of applications and click Next.
5. On the next two screens, select how often and when you want Windows to reset the menus and click Next on both screens.
6. On the final wizard screen, select the Open Advanced Properties check box and click the Finish button.
7. In the resulting dialog, find the run text field. It should contain text similar to this:

C:\PROGRA~1\RIETTA\MENUSNAP\MENUSNAP.EXE
8. After the existing text add a space and add /h /p. The text in the Run field should now look something like this:
C:\PROGRA~1\RIETTA\MENUSNAP\MENUSNAP.EXE /h /p
9. Click the OK button to close the dialog.
