Guide for Using the Chat Blazer Administrator.
Logging In
Enter your login name and administrator password at the Login Window and press the "Login" Button. You can use names like "Homeowner" or "Administrator" to distinguish your identity. You can use other nicknames if you wish to remain anonymous. When you login to the chat server, other users will not notice that you are the administrator. Chat Blazer Administrator (CBA) was developed with this feature to protect your identity in the chat world.
Using the Channel Manager :
1. Closing a Room

Select one of the room which you wish to close and click on the "Close Room" Button. When a room is closed, no user will be able to enter the closed room. However, as an administrator of the chat world, you can still enter a closed room. Closing a room is useful if you want to create a private discussion forum. Users currently inside the closed room will still be able to get out if they choose to. But they will not be able to enter the closed room again.

2. Opening a Room

Select a room which has been closed and click on the "Open Room" Button. An opened room resumes the normal function of other rooms, i.e. users will be able to come in and get out of the room of their own accord.

3. Go to a Room

Select one of the room you wish to go and click on the "Go To Room" Button. You, as an administrator may enter a closed room.

4. Stealth Entry to a Room ( Tip Toe to Room )

Select one of the room you wish to go and click on the "Tip Toe To Room" Button. You, as an administrator may enter a closed room. When you enter a room using stealth entry, users will not know of your logging in to the chat room. The room statistics will not change also. Users will not be able to see your name appearing in the room which you have entered stealthily using the client's room junction window. You can still see the discussions going on in the room or talk to a single person in the room. Note that if you were to talk to everyone in the room, they will know that you are in the room, hence exposing your presence.

5. Create a Room

Type the name of the new room or channel in the "New Room Name" textbox. Click on the "Create Room" button once you have typed the new room's name. Chat Blazer will check and prevent duplication of room names. You can now have room names which have spaces inside them, e.g. "The Lobby".

6. Destroy a Room

Choose a room which you wish to destroy. You can only destroy a room which has no users in it. You need to purge a room if there are any users in it. You cannot destroy the first/only room in the chat world.

7. Purge a Room

You can get rid of every one in the chat room with this function. Select a room with users still in it and click on the "Purge Room" Button. You cannot purge a room with no users in it. This is an expensive procedure and requires a lot of network and server load. Try to send a message to the room telling the users to get out first before purging the room. As an administrator, you cannot be purged from the room.

8. Rename a Room

Select a room which you wish to rename. Type in the new room name in the "New Room Name" textbox. When you have entered the new room name, click on the "Rename Room" Button.

9. Manage Password Settings for a Room

Select a room which you want to set the password settings. Inside the Password Manager, you can add/edit/remove users' login names and passwords. You can add a Room Password which everyone can use when they login to that particular room. You have a choice of activating either of or both the User Password-Protection and Room Password-Protection. The former requires users to have a login name/password record in the room, which will have to be added by you. The latter allows users to login to the room with any nickname but requires a room password.

10. Send a Message to a Room

Select the room which you wish to send the message to. Then type in your message and click on the ".. to Selected Room" Button. You will notice that in the Message Texbox, the string " <<< ADMIN >> :" is already included. You can customise this if you want to. What you type will appear literally on the recipients' screen, i.e. "<<< ADMIN >>> : Room closing in 5 minutes", or  "< HOMEOWNER > : WELCOME".

11. Send a Message to all Rooms

Type in your message and click on the ".. to All Rooms" button. Every room/channel will be able to receive your message.

Profanity Filter Manager :
When you first start up your chat server, the profanity filtering function is disabled by default. You can enter list of keywords that you wish to filter. Example, if you have entered the following list of keywords; "profanity1, profanity2" into the keywod Textbox, then any message typed by any users in any rooms that contain the word "profanity1" or "profanity2" will be filtered and the message would not be displayed to the rest of the users in the chat room. The user who typed in the profanity messages will be issued a warning. Each time you shut down the server and restart it again, the profanity manager would default to disabled.
Kick an Unwanted User :
You can kick an unwanted user from a chat room by selecting his name and pressing the "Kick" Button.
