	Welcome to PC Life  2000 V3.5.5 Y2K Compliance.

This PC Life  2000 download is the full featured product with the following limitations:

Starts with a Registration Reminder 
Does not have a password protected settings lock 
Is provided with a 30 day limited demo license

To purchase PC Life  2000 you can make an on-line purchase by pointing your browser at:

or you can purchase using the Kagi Registration System that allows you to License your Installations by Credit Card, Money Order or Cheque payment (see Registering / Purchasing below).

When you register PC Life  2000 you will receive a Validation Code that will remove the above limitations.

The Setup Files are packaged in a zip file called pcl2kv3c.zip that is 2.77MB in size.  This zip file should be saved to an empty temporary directory and unzipped.  Then double click the Setup.exe file and you will be guided through the installation process.

Alternatively, you can you can create a floppy disk installation by copying Setup.exe, Setup.lst and pclife1.cab to Disk1 and pclife2.cab to Disk2 (1.44MB).  This allows you to install PC Life  2000 using 2 floppy disks.  We have Setup Disk Sticker Graphics to label these disks.

The Licenses are transferable between PCs, as long as the number of PCs installed with PC Life  2000 does not exceed the number of PC Licenses purchased. 

To purchase Personal, Business or Company Licenses, please use the [Register] Button on the Licensing Reminder Startup Form (for assistance use the [Pricing/Help] button) once you have installed the product. This will provide the option to purchase on-line from NetSales or activate the Kagi Register Program that allows you to purchase by Email, Fax or Post.

To purchase a World License you must contact PC Life  directly at WorldLicenseRequest@pclife.com.au.

   
   Installing PC Life  2000

To install this program please unzip the zip file to a temporary directory and run setup.exe. This loads the Installation program that will guide you through the installation process.

Optionally, you can create a floppy disk installation by copying Setup.exe, Setup.lst and pclife1.cab to disk1 and pclife2.cab with ReadMe.txt to Disk3.

Where the setup program detects that shared components are newer on your PC, you are notified and given the option of keeping your existing component. We suggest that you always keep the newer components.

    Un-Installing PC Life 2000

You MUST exit PC Life 2000 before running uninstall from Add/Remove Programs (Control Panel), otherwise the EXE file cannot be deleted!

    Registering / Purchasing 

The unlicensed PC Life  2000 displays a startup form that includes a [Register] and an [Validate] button. Click the [Register] button to be presented with the Licensing Options.

   Validating your Installation

Once we have received your payment, you will receive a Validation Email or Letter containing your validation name and code. When you receive this click the [Validate] button to enter your validation name and code to License the PC Installation.

Once licensed, PC Life  2000 will function to the year 2099, and you can upgrade to the latest version free of charge until the 1st of January 2001
 
   Microsoft Component

PC Life  2000 is programmed using December 1998 Microsoft Components, and only genuine Microsoft Components are included in its installation.   You can trust requests to upgrade to newer versions of dlls during installation.  PC Life  2000 does not alter any operating System DLLs!

   Upgrading / Un-Installing PC Life  2000

You must first exit PC Life  2000 before attempting to un-install or upgrade it.  A number of elements exist to prevent accidental shutdown of PC Life  2000.

Exit PC Life  2000 by selecting the Go | Exit PC Life  2000 menu on the Clock Form.

If this is disabled then enable it by un-checking the "Forbid User Shutdown of PC Life  2000" checkbox on the Compliance Tab of the System Settings Dialog Form. If this checkbox is disabled then Unlock PC Life  2000 from the Locking Tab on the settings box.

You can tell that you have exited when the PC Life  2000 System Tray Icon disappears from the System Tray on the Task Bar.

Now that you have exited PC Life  2000, please use the Add/Remove Programs utility in the Windows Control Panel and select PC Life 2000 to remove the installation.
