1. Product Description
-----------------------
Phone Plus is a full featured telephone dialer with optional Caller ID
and speakerphone support. You can organize names, numbers, addresses,
and other information in multiple user-defined phone books and dial
using a standard Data/Fax modem. Other features include automatic
redial of busy numbers, and call logging. Caller ID lets you know who
is calling before you answer. A flashing icon in the system tray lets
you know that calls were logged while you were away from the computer.
Sound options allow playing a different wave file for five different
call types. With Pager Notification you can be automatically paged
when someone calls your home or office. Place and receive calls using
the full featured speakerphone. See the help file for a complete list
of available features. Phone Plus is TAPI compliant and can share your
modem with other TAPI programs.

-----------------------
2. System Requirements
-----------------------
- 80386 required, 486 or higher recommended
- Microsoft(r) Windows(r) 95/98
- VGA or Super-VGA monitor
- 2 MB (minimum) of free disk space
- A mouse or equivalent pointing device

In addition, the Caller ID and Speakerphone features require:
- Microsoft(r) Unimodem/V universal modem driver
- A TAPI compliant modem with Caller ID or speakerphone functionality
- Caller ID service from your phone company

Phone Plus will run on Windows NT, however the version of Unimodem
provided with Windows NT does not support Caller ID or a speakerphone.
These features should become available on Windows 2000.

3. Installation
----------------
If you are updating a previous version of Phone Plus, do not uninstall
the old version. This would remove the configuration settings. Simply
install this new version over the old one. Be sure the old version is
not running when installing the new one, or you will need to restart
Windows to finish the installation.

First, extract the files to a temporary directory. You can delete this
directory when setup has completed. Run Setup.exe and follow the
instructions. Use one of these methods to run Setup.exe:

- Select Run from the Taskbar Start menu, type the full path of the
temporary directory followed by a backslash and the name of the
installation program (e.g., C:\TEMP\SETUP.EXE). Press the ENTER key.
- Use My Computer or the Explorer to find the Setup.exe file. Double-
click the icon to run it.

To uninstall Phone Plus simply double-click "Add/Remove programs" in
the control panel, select Phone Plus in the list, and click the
"Add/Remove" button. After uninstalling you will need to manually
remove the Phone Plus directory and any files left in it since the
uninstall does not remove any data files or temporary files that were
created.

9. What's New
--------------
Listed here are the changes and new features in this version.

- Added a new search feature that can search your phone books or notes
  for any string.
- Added an option to set the default phone book to be displayed each
time the program starts rather than showing the last one used.
- Added new Hot Key settings that allows the user to quickly display
the main window or the Call Log from the keyboard.
- When adding an entry to a phone book from a Call Log entry, Phone
Plus now checks for an existing entry with the same phone number.

The following changes apply if you are using the Caller ID features:

- Added a new "Allow Call-Back" option. If you are using the Auto-
Hang-Up feature on Blocked or "Out of Area" calls, this option allows
a caller to get through if they call back within 60 seconds.
- Added a "Don't Page or E-mail" option to phone book entries. This
gives you more control over individual callers.
- Added an "Override Volume" option that can temporarily change the
current volume setting to whatever level you choose when the WAV
sounds are played on an incoming call.
