Active Fields is Delphi 3 (actf30.dpl) or Delphi 4 (actf40.bpl) add-in tool, 
which helps you to add DBControls to the form fast and easily. Just select 
fields from list and drag-and-drop them to form, like you do it in MSAccess.

Some bugs fixed.
'Lookup control type' was added in 'Field Defaults...'.  It is used when
some of lookup properties of field are set. Note: FieldKind property 
can be both fkLookup and fkData.

You can use any control, derived from TLabel instead TLabel as a label.
Label's 'Focus control' property is set to the associated control.

Drag-and-drop.
You can now use data sources placed in any form or data module in the project.
You can create now by ActiveFields any data-aware components you have installed.
Looking for updates in Internet (only Delphi4 version). You can disable it.
ATTENTION: if you do not want this feature, uncheck "Look for updates in Internet"
checkbox in "Evaluation copy" dialog. No internet connections will be made.


Installation
------------

Copy actf30.dpl or actf40.bpl to any folder you want. Start Delphi. Choose 
"Install packages..." from "Component" menu. Click "Add..." Button 
from "Project options" dialog. Select actf30.dpl (for Delphi 3) or 
actf40.bpl (for Delphi 4) in "Add design package" dialog and click "Open". 
Click "OK" in  "Project options" dialog. 
Restart Delphi. 
Now you have "Field list" menu item in "View" menu.

How it works
------------

This add-in helps you to add DBControls to the form fast and easily.
1. Check "Field List" from "View" menu. "Active fields" form will appear.
2. From upper combo box on "Active fields" form choose form or data module, 
which contains data sources you want to use.
3. Choose data source you want to use from middle combo box. In list box 
available fields will appear.
4. Select control type you want create from lower combo box. If you want use 
type that not in the combo box, you can add it selecting "Add new control's 
type..." from popup menu or write it to combo box text (in second case it will 
not be added permanently).
5. Select necessary fields from list box and click right mouse button, then 
select 'Add Fields' from popup menu or drag-and-drop it to form. Controls will 
be created with caption or label from "DisplayLabel" property of DataSet field. 
DataSets must be in active state unless they have fields created by field 
editor.
