Program Overview
""""""""""""""""

NTMon consists of a configuration program and a dynamic link library
(DLL). The DLL is invisibly used by the NT Performance Monitor (PerfMon)
whenever a remote Windows 95 or Windows 98 (Win9x) machine is selected
for monitoring.

In order for NTMon to actually communicate with the remote Win9x machine,
the Win9x machine must first be running a remote agent program. BonAmi's
AgentMon program reports its performance data to NTMon.

BonAmi's NTMon and remote agent programs communicate using the TCP/IP
protocol. In order to use these products, you must have TCP/IP installed
on your machines. You can run the NTMon configuration program to set the
TCP/IP communications port.

Program Notes
"""""""""""""

1. Some Win9x performance counters may be valid on either Windows 95 or
   Windows 98, but not both.

2. The Running time and Total CPU time counters are only accurate from
the time that remote monitoring began.

3. Per-process memory usage monitoring may use a large amount of the
available CPU time on the remote Win9x machine.

4. The CPU load on the remote Win9x machine increases with the number of
   performance counters monitored.

5. After removing a remote Win9x performance counter from the NT PerfMon
display, PerfMon may continue to request this counter. Over time, this
may lead to excessive CPU load on the remote Win9x machine. Removing
all the displayed counters before adding new counters of interest is
   helpful in this regard.

6. Poor response from any remotely monitored machine may adversely affect
   NT PerfMon performance.

7. Logging and saving settings for remote Win9x machines is not currently
   supported.
